Privacy Policy for App Lock - Private Vault
Last Updated: 25 Feb 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your information when you use the App Lock - Private Vault mobile application (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
To provide our core security features and maintain app stability, our Service requests specific device permissions. The core app-locking data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Installed Applications (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): We require this permission to generate a list of all applications installed on your device. This is strictly used so you can view and select which apps you wish to protect with a lock. This list never leaves your device.
App Usage Data (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS & FOREGROUND_SERVICE): We use these permissions to detect when a locked application is launched by the user. This allows our security overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) to trigger instantly and prompt for your password, PIN, or Fingerprint.
Camera Access (CAMERA): This permission is used exclusively for the "Intruder Selfie" feature. If an incorrect PIN or pattern is entered, the app captures a photo using the front-facing camera. These photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded or shared by us.
Biometric Data (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used to authenticate your identity via your device's native fingerprint scanner. We do not collect, store, or have access to your actual biometric data; this is handled entirely by your device's Android operating system.
Device Status & Background Optimization (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK, REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): These permissions ensure the App Lock service starts automatically when you turn on your phone and remains active in the background to keep your apps secured.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to display a persistent notification, which is required by the Android system to keep the security service running reliably in the background.
2. Third-Party Services, Analytics, and Advertising
We use third-party services to monitor the stability of the app and display advertisements (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, AD_ID). These third-party SDKs may collect device identifiers (such as your Google Advertising ID), IP addresses, and app interaction data.
A. Analytics & Stability (Firebase)
We use Google Firebase SDKs (Crashlytics, Analytics, Performance, Remote Config, and Messaging) to track crash logs, monitor app speed, and understand general user engagement so we can fix bugs and improve the Service.
Google Privacy Policy

4. Children's Privacy
